In the same way that happens with the Certamen Llobet, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the development of this edition of the festival can be followed online although the difference will be in the possibility of attending with a limited capacity and restrictions according to protocols implemented by the health authorities.
Every year the Festival of the Arts and the Guitar invites an artistic discipline to share the stage with the guitar instrument. Every Saturday, starting on October 17, we will enjoy musical shows expressly linked to the art of Painting.
At the inauguration we will have the participation of Nasia duo and the plastic artist Ana Beltrán who present Emotional Intimacy, a reflective and therapeutic proposal about these months lived of social distancing. The following Saturday we will have Silvia Nogales and her award-winning Altamira, ancestral and mystical proposal, a musical journey to the painting of the past with the participation of the artist Josep María Rius, better known as Joma, illustrator of the newspaper La Vanguardia. And we will end the last two Saturdays with concerts by young soloists who invite us to observe works of art in pandemic periods with Ernest Martínez and Mariana Gómez who will illustrate us with The Color of the Mexican Guitar.
And as in other editions, our collaborating spaces never fail, such as the Fort Pienc and Casa Elizalde civic centers, which together with the Municipal Conservatory of Music of Barcelona, will be stages of large concerts that will induce us to different themes and styles, with the guitar as the protagonist accompanied of the voice, the piano or the violin.
Despite the unfortunate situation that the cultural sector is experiencing as a result of the serious economic crisis in 2008 and the health crisis in 2019, we congratulate ourselves on the possibility of building new bridges of collaboration by joining a collective effort. From the Miquel Llobet International Guitar Contest of Barcelona, we have started new ties with the prestigious University of Arizona, with Bolton Guitar Studies and the Tucson Guitar Society through a series of online concerts that you can follow on the Art Llobet YouTube channel.
