The Llobet International Guitar Competition of Barcelona – Composition Section will celebrate its seventh edition in 2026, consolidating a project that since its inception has aimed to promote contemporary guitar creation and to generate real opportunities for the dissemination of new works by composers and performers.

The jury for this new edition will be formed by Maria Linnemann, José Río-Pareja and Miguel Trápaga, three internationally renowned figures whose careers offer complementary perspectives from composition, pedagogy and guitar performance.

As part of the seventh edition, the competition will present a special concert within the Art Llobet Festival, devoted to finalist and semifinalist works from previous editions—pieces of outstanding artistic quality that deserve to continue to be heard on concert stages.

In addition, the competition invites guitarists from around the world to record and perform finalist and semifinalist works from past editions. Selected performances will be featured on the official website and on the competition’s YouTube channel, which reaches thousands of followers worldwide, providing an international platform for both performers and composers.
